The Museum of Nevis History is situated in a handsome Caribbean Georgian stone building near the water at the north end of Charlestown, the capital of Nevis. The museum is administered by the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, which also has its headquarters behind the scenes on the same floor of this historic building.
The museum space is shady, and is usually cool and pleasant to be in, even on a hot day. While it is not a large museum, the exhibits are many, and they are rich, varied, and engaging, covering not only the history, but also the pre-history, anthropology, geology, and natural history of the island.
