Went on a RCI cruise in September 2008. Found it to be a nice break from the chaos of people in your face in the other countries where we stopped. Although one child in our group got a pretty bad jellyfish sting, in very shallow water, the beach itself was beautiful. There were local's who were lifeguards on the beach and were quick to respond with some gel to help with the sting. Another person in our group got a nasty rash on her legs after swimming in the water, possibly sea lice, but not sure. The rash is still there after 7 days...so I would at least recommend getting off the ship to check it out, but as for swimming, beware!

The waterpark was nice, and at only $15/pp, it was a fun thing to do (just beware of the jellyfish, etc.). You only get 50 minutes for the $15, but it is worth it. Royal Caribbean caters while on the island so you can be sure the water and food is safe to drink. All the locals were really pleasant.
