Barbados Lesser Antilles Hotels & Resorts

  • The beaches of Barbados range from long, narrow strands of sand lapped by calm waters to rockbound, cove-type beaches that are scenic but pounded by high Atlantic surf.
  • Cuisine on the island is drawn mainly from African and English influences but one can discover a great variety of establishments featuring Italian, French, Spanish, East Indian and Chinese culinary treats.
  • Visit a quaint windmill, stand in awe 800 feet above the Atlantic in a 17th century Abbey, or sample some of the best rum in the Caribbean.

  • Barbados is unique,a former British territory located in the British West Indies, melding English traditions and Caribbean style. Often called "Little England", the island is home to centuries old stone buildings and churches. If not for swaying palm trees, you might be convinced you were in a London neighborhood. The people of Barbados are nicknamed "Bajuns". They are proud of their English heritage and enjoy cricket and afternoon tea. People still wear light jackets for dinner, observe traditional English manners and speak with more of a British accent than the pure "West-Indies" accent found elsewhere in the Caribbean. Bajuns are outgoing and welcoming to visitors from around the world. In fact, one of the reasons so many people enjoy going to Barbados is the overwhelming feeling that their hotel is part of the "neighborhood" rather than just a resort.

    Cool Runnings Catamaran Cruises

This was the best part of our trip. I would highly recommend it. I know it seams like a lot of money but you receive unlimited drinks and free food. And the atmosphere was amazing. We first sailed for a while while the friendly crew explained us things on the island as we passed them. First stop was with the turtles. It was nice we were only like 20 people and it didn't feel crowded. Also the nice part was we left 30 minutes before the other catamarans left so as we were sailing of to our next stop about 100 people stopped trying to snorkel with the turtles. The shipwreck was awesome too. We saw some awesome fishes and then we headed to the beach stop. Most people stayed on the boat or were swimming as the rum was flowing. I had to tell them I didn't want any more as they didn't let my glass get empty. The buffet was very nice. It was a mix out of salads, chicken, fish, sides. Didn't use the restrooms, but everything seamed very clean. Just make sure you bring lots of sun scream. We had 50 and still got burned and I am dark featured. The staff was awesome. Have some money if you would like to buy a tshirt and also for a tip. They really deserve it.
